The Millennium Development Goals of 2000 set up by the United Nations are getting some new input from january 2016 onwards. The Millennium Declaration mostly mentioned these objectives:
diminish poverty
school for all children
equality of man and woman
diminish infant mortality
amelioration of the health of pregnant women
repression of HIV/aids, malaria and other deadly diseases
durable environment for all
global collaboration for development
The complete declaration can be found here.

Several of the above goals have been made, but still a lot of mothers die during pregnancy and many people still live in poverty. There are lots of good causes next to the Millennium Declaration, which strive for these exact same objectives. But sadly, these last two objectives have sometimes been forgotten.
Overall the Declaration has improved lots of problems in the world, yet there are still several problems concerning the Declaration itself. Many report that these objectives are too limited, that they ignore the importance of durable and economic development and completely forget about human rights.

These new goals were set up during Rio+20, the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Develpment in 2012. The UN created a designated team of representatives from 70 different countries to write down all the objectives, and it created the online survey ‘My World’, in which everyone could vote for their six most important goals.
